I was just at a Wild Oats this evening here in Kentucky, and there was a little sign up saying that due to weather something-or-other, Pom juice was going to be out of stock till February... I found it very odd, plus I saw the earlier post you made about this and I wondered... is that really the reason they're out?
bloody fucking hell. i wish i could kick everyone who pulls this shit. it's malicious and it's not helping the animal rights movement at all. in fact, it sets it waaaaay back because it just makes the general public believe that animal rights activists in general are all crazy fucks who have no qualms about poisoning innocent schoolchildren's lunches.
This is ridiculous on so many levels. I think its a hoax and whoever perpetrated it is kind of an idiot. I totally support direct action. This is weak, though. Its a stupid prank aimed at hurting PEOPLE which does nothing for our cause. Liberate the animals used in tests, destroy POM testing equipment, but stuff like this really just feeds the whole animal rights OMG TEH TERRORISTS spin that is happening right now. If its true, (which I doubt), its essentially biological 'warfare' (i use the term warfare loosely here) against people, which is fucking ridiculous. Most of the people who drink POM don't know about what's going on and this is not the way to inform them or help animals
( ... )
Opening pom containers is a very logical alternative. It doesn't hurt anyone but POM, and it doesn't make people think "terrorists!" Not only that, but it doesn't need to be announced by the ARM. It would just serve its purpose and that's that. Threatening random people's health is not a good way to conduct a protest.
Then again, if opening the containers would make something go bad and be a health risk, that wouldn't work... but I don't think there's anything in POM that would really go bad.
