if your friends want to reach a wide audience to get the word out about what has happened to them, then you might want to point them in the direction of the Alex Jones radio show (nationally syndicated radio program, world-wide over the internet).
if you're not familiar with the show, the host, Alex Jones, covers news all the time regarding the coming police state, and is very pro-free speech, constitution, etc. no doubt your friends could get on for an interview, as he frequently has people one who've had their rights encroached upon or revoked.
