It's bizarre that people in the vitamin supplements industry are so ignorant about what vegetarianism means. Several years ago, I worked for a supplements manufacturer; when I pointed out that by making all their products vegetarian they'd be able to gobble up the market shares of all supplement users - from those with religious/cultural objections to certain ingredients to vegetarians and vegans as well as everyone else - I was repeatedly given the brush-off. You'd have thought that things would have moved on.
Finding a vegan acidophilus pill/capsule (that was less than $30!) was so impossible for me recently that I gave up and bought one in gelatin capsules...ugh!
I mean, I can't do anything about the fact that my Adderall probably has animal ingredients and was extensively tested on animals. But you'd think that it would be easier to buy something like acidophilus!
