NJ to CA road trip!!!!!

so me and my friend are leaving this friday to travel across the country in 10 days. we'll be taking route 80 and then rt 90 and along the way we'll be stopping to see dope things like the worlds biggest ball of twine. and mt rushmore or something. we're leaving from northern NJ and ending in Merced, CA so ( Read more... )

McFoster's is pretty delicious. It's in Omaha (I-80 runs right through Omaha), on 38th and Farnam. See happycow.net for more places.

If you stop in Chicago make a trip to The Chicago Diner. Or if you're not wanting to go that far north, go to Soul Veg East.

Other than that all I have to say is goodluck on 90. It's all torn up near Chicago and won't be back together until 2009.

and if you are in chicago for breakfast, try pick me up cafe. they have great vegan pancakes and french toast.

yeah expect some bad traffic around chicago. also there is a new place called veggie bite on the south side, not too far off the highway at all. http://veggiebite.net/ but going to soul veg would be well worth it.

vegguide.org is a great guide.

Plus if you discover any NEW places to eat, the interface allows anyone to add a new entry, to help out future vegan travellers.
