so i was looking up animal rights cartoons and one link brought me to a peta website. well as easily distracted as i am i ended up clicking around on peta and it brought me to this page with their long list of vegan foods

I don't like that either. Either it's vegan or it's not. If we buy products that have just a little animal product in it it sends the message that it's ok to make products that have a little bit of animal products in it. Frankly, no it's not ok.
Peta's not all around stupid, though. I love how people will dismiss the entire organization and all the good they do over a few dumb or crappy things. If we dismissed everyone and everything because they've done or said or believe something stupid, we wouldn't have any friends.
I gotta admit, I usually don't care about Vitamin D, or the mono and diglycerides, that kind of thing. If I'm serving other vegans I might warn them, but if it's just me, I'll eat that kind of thing, usually.
new question: are ALL mono- and di-glycerides un-vegan? i thought i heard/read somewhere that it depends.... and it's hard to find some stuff (BREAD!!!) without them at all.

i thought i heard/read somewhere that it depends....
and it's hard to find some stuff (BREAD!!!) without them at all.
