On a lot of the DC metro trains there are posters paid for by consumerfreedom.org which proclaim this:
quote from a PETA spokesperson (sorry I forget who) "Even if animal testing were to result in a cure for AIDs, we'd still be against it"
most of the poster is taken up by a picture of a red ribbon being burned by a hand with a match, presumably belonging to PETA
then underneath it says, and this is no longer totally precise, "PETA's violent opposition to medical research is well documented. Less well known - PETA has funnelled over (some amount) of $$ to violent (terrorists?)" or very similar
thousands upon thousands of residents and tourists of DC read those posters every day. good luck!!
CCF is paid by the industries they defend to criticize (usually using warped/exaggerated data) all who stand in their way. CCF claims that they are opposed to the "nanny state" and believe no one should tell consumers what they should and shouldn't consume/buy. They say people should make their own decisions. Yet... CCF does exactly the opposite. They go out of their way to see to it that consumers do not have free will, but believe exactly what the meat/tobacco/alcohol industries want them to believe through elaborate media campaigns.
