is whole foods wholesome?

Mar 22, 2006 12:50

this was linked to on msn.

"It's likely that neither Wal-Mart nor Whole Foods will do much to encourage local agriculture or small farming, but in an odd twist, Wal-Mart, with its simple "More for Less" credo, might do far more to democratize the nation's food supply than Whole Foods."

Maybe I'll worry more about this sort of thing when I actually have the money for and access to organic produce.

Let's all support the most evil company ever because Whole Foods is too expensive. BS. Total and complete BS. The WFM I work for has a HUGE amount of local organic produce and other products. This could be because MN is a good state for lots of stuff... but damn. If you're smart, you can shop WF and still get organic stuff and not have your wallet cry. The 365 OG store brand is *amazing* and so cheap... OG bulk bin stuff is wonderful. Walmart is going to change things more, indeed. *huffs*

Ugh.
I hate it when folks gripe about WF. I LOVE working there and you'll never see happier employees than at STP. Grrr. I used to work for Walmart... it makes me furious to see them touted as being better that WF in any way imaginable. And if we DIDN'T import OG produce, people would bitch about the lack of selection. You just can't win.

Thanks for the link. One of the cashiers was pissed about this article and I meant to find it.
