Alright, so some fellow vegans told me that Wendy's was the only popular fast food place with vegan fries. Then I checked the ingredients on Burger King fries and didn't see anything that I knew of to not be vegan. McDonald's fries clearly are not vegan or vegetarian as they are flavored with beef. But here are the ingredient's to Burger King fries ( Read more... )

I'm just going to throw out the usual argument that people throw out:

Supporting BK monetarily isn't a vegan idea bc it is economically supporting the largest supplier of BEEF to the u.s.

I think that's what the concept is. I don't really remember. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

eating a veggie burger at burger king is economically supporting their choice to offer vegetarian options to people who don't eat meat, something that is radically helpful to the vegetarian movement.

i know the argument not to support burger king is hard to stand by, although i personally can't eat fast food. i am still, however, guilty of supporting non-vegan corporations. i buy whitewave soy products fully knowing dean foods is responsible for keeping the dairy industry in business. it's hard to decide if it's worth it to buy their vegan stuff in the hopes they will concentrate less on dairy. i also know there are lots of people who grew up eating fast food and miss it, and i know that there are poor students, starving artists, and touring bands in the middle of nowhere who are absolutely thrilled they can now afford a vegan product like bk's french fries which are so affordable and readily available.

but if we are arguing on sheer principle, and we are to consider all sides, the idea that supporting a vastly nonvegan enterprise is unhelpful to the vegetarian movement is a valid point which should be given serious consideration ( ... )

I don't know if you guys have pen station where you are, but those fries are vegan. They hand-slice those potatoes and throw them in peanut oil (which only fries and fried in). Oh, man, godliness! They're not really cheap though, but I don't care. I'll eat that stuff long before BK, McD, or wendies.

this place is so dumb i don't even know why i'm still a member of this crap board. all everyone does here anymore is fight with each other about why you should be vegan and what it means to be vegan. it's different for everyone and no one person is right or wrong. if vegetarians and vegans can't even get along with each other... no wonder everyone else thinks we're fucking tree hugging psychos...
