A discovery

I discovered something just now while making dinner for breakfast. I chopped up some pine nuts and toasted them in a dry skillet to sprinkle on top of my pasta, and to my amazement the aroma and flavor of them is very bacon-y, especially with some added salt. I do recommend chopping them up as finely as you can. The more browned surfaces, the more bacon-y they taste.
