cool! isn't horchata peanut? in spain it is always called 'groundnut milk'.

I think you're thinking of tigernuts or chufa (xufa), which are tubers. Originally horchata was made from barley, and there are infinite variations. Cuban almond horchata and Spanish tigernut horchata (I love the Spanglish on that page) and Puerto Rican sesame horchata (which sinboy thinks would be gross and I think would be delicious, like a liquid version of one of those sesame and honey candies) and horchata cocktails and all these recipes (FRIED HORCHATA ZOMG) and I want one of these machines...

Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Anyway, this is the Mexican version, which is usually made either just with rice or with rice and almonds.

Ah I've only ever had it in Spain - it is indeed called 'horchata de chufas' there and is delicious.
