You should talk to the people at Goodwell's in Cass Corridor. I have a friend who orders food items in bulk through them.

I used to work for a health food store, where you could order it in a case, and would save 20%--do you have any small health food stores in the area? They'd probably do that, too. :)

Whole Foods does a 10% case discount, too.

have you ever considered making your own? it's definitely cheaper and not very difficult or time-consuming.

Actually, I have never considered this, it is really that easy? I know I can look it up online (which I will do right now) but do you know any tried-and-true recipes??

this is a v basic recipe that you can tweek if you like.
soak 1/2 cup blanched almonds in water overnight. strain.
place in a blender or food processor with 1/2 cup fresh water. whiz to form a wet paste. being adding more water a little at a time - until you've added 2 cups total. whiz for at least five minutes, longer if you have the patience.
line a strainer or colander with 3 or 4 layers of cheesecloth/chef's cloth and pour the milk through slowly and gradually. strain again with fresh cloth to remove even more particulate.
if desired, you can add a little liquid sweetener, a pinch of salt, some vanilla or any other flavourings you like, though the blame nut milk is just fine too.
this'll keep for 2-3 days in the fridge.
you can also use the leftover nut pulp as a natural exfoliant in the shower or bath.

hths!

If you have money to spend on bulk almonds, maybe you should look into getting a milk-maker instead. I have a Soyquick Premier and I use it to make every type of non-dairy milk I can think of. They cost about $200.00 and they have a seven year warranty.
