souffles

I know the answer is probably going to be no, but is it possible to make a vegan souffle? Has anyone tried? I really enjoy seeing how all you creative cooks tackle non-vegan recipes. :D A souffle would be like Everest - why would you try to veganise a dish that is 99% dairy and egg? Because it's there!

I haven't and thought you'd get a 'no' also, but then decided to google and lo and behold, there are vegan soufflé recipes. Wow. Three are at http://www.recipezaar.com/

That said, it's worth asking here simply to get some feedback and the like. If no one has made one, perhaps they can try the recipezaar ones and get back to the community.

Good luck, and thanks for surprising me. :)

Oops. I'm not trained to do more than one thing at a time. :$

well hey, an earlier poster veganized creme brulee, and that is normally a completely egg and dairy dessert. i think the biggest known veganization challenge is angelfood cake.

oh man, yes. there has to be an effective way, though. i've searched for both vegan meringue and vegan angelfood, and i've found a few success stories for meringue, but zero for angelfood. to me, that is just weird. i'm goin' experimentin'!

When I asked about cream puffs / profiteroles a while ago supercarrot pointed out a blog to me of someone who is trying to make an all purpose egg replacer. She also gave some other links to people who are veganizing the 'impossible', maybe they're a place to start?
