low-calorie muffins?

I have a very specific request: a recipe for very low calorie vegan muffins (140 calories or less), preferably fat-free or low-fat, that does not require an egg replacer, agave nectar, or arrowroot.
please help?

Probably any basic muffin recipe would be under 150, fewer if you replace half/all the oil with applesauce. It's stuff like chocolate chips that add major calories. Here's a recipe I've been working on. It's not perfect, but each muffin is 118 calories. You can add chopped apple/berries/nuts/whatever if you want, but you'll have to figure out the numbers.

2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup soymilk
1/4 cup applesauce
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp vinegar

Preheat oven to 375F. In one bowl, combine flour, soda, and salt. In another bowl, combine everything else. Add wet to dry and stir just until combined. Fold in apples/berries/whatever. Pour into 12 muffin cups. Bake 22 minutes.

I think that this recipe originally came from a comment on a post here, but I don't feel like looking it up, so I'll type up my copy... I have no idea of the calorie count though, but it is fat free:

1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 bananas, mashed
1/3 cup unsweetened apple sauce

(optional 1/2 cups walnuts. I don't use 'em because I don't like nuts in muffins, I reckon they'd add fat and calories as well)

Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt

Beat together bananas, sugar, applesauce

Combine two mixtures

Spoon into pan

Bake in preheated oven (375 F) for 18-23 minutes

I tend to use whole wheat flour for some or all of the flour. You can also cut down on the sugar quite a bit, which would reduce the calories. I've been known to put as little as a 1/4 cup o' sugar.

i'm with you on the sugar. i reduce sugar extensively and i've left out oil many, many times.
to the OP; you could also replace the bananas with a cup of pumpkin puree and throw some pumpkin pie spice in the recipe. this would add flavor without adding sugar.
