looking for cooking ideas

so.. my roommate and i are trying to figure out how to run a vegetarian household but we are both noobs to cooking. we just got a ton of produce at the public market and i am not sure what we should do with it all, so was wondering if you guys had any suggestions ( Read more... )

Beans and rice. So easy and you can throw in whatever veggies you want.

Also, soup is pretty hard to screw up, so that's another option.

This fettucine with white bean sauce and chard is excellent.

lol, i guess i'm not that much of a noob as I have made some stir-frys before. it's about all i have done. i hadn't thought of that method of pushing the veggies to the side, though. may have to try it sometime! thanks so much for typing all this out and even drawing a neat little picture :)
btw, what is plum sauce?

WHAT IS PLUM SAUCE?!
My jaw is on the floor right now.
It's ONLY the tastiest sauce in the entire world! It's tangy, it's sweet, it's garlicky, it's the bomb. If it's not at your grocery store, it will definitely be at an Asian grocery store if there is one near by.

heh.. i'll have to find it then. so far the yummiest i've had is pad thai sauce.
