i did a reorg. it was originally cookies/biscuits, but now i think i might split that and make cookies(uncategorized) and a second cookies-biscuits. (if the brits agree. is a biscuit specifically different from an american cookie, or is it all the same thing?)

p.s. rye flour. facsinating!

I thought biscuits were, in general, less sweet than what we Americans would consider a cookie.

Then again I'm not from the UK, I just shop at an import store. lol

Well, I go by the idea that, all cookies are biscuits but not all biscuits are cookies, if that makes sense? I'm British but that doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about... x

(not to be confused with breads-biscuits(american terminology) of course. hahaa!)

not that this is a nutrition/diet related community but that much coconut oil must contribute a lot of saturated fat?

saturated fat isn't really as bad as the hype indicates.

in fact, a while back, there was hype about coconut oil being really good for you. people were taking it as a supplement.

also, coconut oil is probably better for you than an equal amount of palm oil based shortening/margarine. :-) it's a cookie. it's not supposed to be health food.

Only if you eat ALL of the cookies! ;)

I was about to ask if this turbinado thing can be replaced with demerara sugar, but decided to google it first, and found it is exactly the same thing :)

Now for the big question, where can I find solid coconut oil? Never even heard of it before. (No, don't send me to US stores, too much flight hours...). I'll have to ask for it on local health store and hope for good.

it's solid when it's colder than a certain temp. if you live in a warm climate, or if it's just summer time, it'll need to be refrigerated to be solid, or just use it as a liquid. i'm sure it'll work just fine.

So I should just look for coconut oil? I'll try that! thanks.
