is there any chance in hell this is still good? its been constantly frozen since then and i tend to think the freezer is magical so i have a habit of throwing stuff in there and then forgetting it.

if anybody knows exactly how long fake meat can last after their expiration dates (or ( Read more... )

i planned on turning them into tacos and i just don't want to go out and buy all my taco making stuffs and then find out that they were bad.

:(

on the outside chance they aren't, ya think taco bell/old el paso seasoning packets for meat would work for 'em?

you just fry it up with onion like regular meat?

i don't really remember how my mother used to make 'taco meat'.

I don't know if this site helps or not. The closest match I could find would be "TV dinners, frozen" entry (unopened 12-18 months)....

wow!

i dunno if the tv dinner thing would work as they're not really the same (i hope though as then the crumbles might be ok) but i had no idea that some of those things even went bad!
i mean what does expired pasta do?!

It might be freezer-burned, but I doubt it would be unsafe or harmful for you to eat it.

Seconded. They'll probably not taste good, but not harmful. I'd toss them anyways, though.

how would i know if they're gonna come out weird before i go through the trouble of trying to cook 'em?

boca usually tastes kinda weird to me (my mother latched on to one product she knows vegans can eat so whenever i see her she always buys me something of theirs) so i kinda worry i wouldn't notice just tasting an uncooked piece, like i would chalk it up to boca's kinda strange taste.
is there something i should look for when opening or cooking?

They'll look extra dried out and have extra ice crystals all over them. If you're not used to them or don't really remember them, then you probably wouldn't know the difference, but there is a reason even frozen food has an expiration date.
