i tried that chocolate and thought it tasted horrible... it was unfortunate because i was really happy to find it and was really looking forward to it... from now on, i'll stick to a high-quality dark.
After a while of eating dark chocolate, I accidentally ate a piece of milk chocolate once and it turns out that I don't even like real milk chocolate anymore. (I had to spit it out cause it was too gross!) Maybe that's the case?
Instead of thyme...do you think basil would be ok? I love putting basil in just about everything.
That was the hardest part about going vegan for me actually...giving up milk chocolate. Esp the cheap stuff like Hershey bars. Now I cant really eat chocolate, because then Ill start to crave Hershey's anything. If I reallllllly really crave milk chocolate though, I make Mexican Hot Cocoa, which is basically dark chocolate cinnamon bark, melted into soy milk (or half soy milk half soy creamer), with a little extra cinnamon and vanilla extract. If anyone is interested, I will be happy to provide the recipe!
actually i made it last night and added about five stem things of basil right in before the simmer (right after i took out the bay leaf) You dont have to cut the leaves or anything because you grind it up in the food processor/blender.
also i have frozen basil cubes so i added those at the same time as the tomatoes and it turned out WONDERFUL.
Whoops! Forgot to add the step about taking out the bay leaf!
Basil is definitely a good option as well. I'm a little too basil-crazy at times, which is why I didn't include it in this particular version (plus I was trying to match that "Whole Foods" taste) but will definitely do that next time!
