I am sure that there is someone in the UK who can help me out with this!

We just got a new pressure cooker that is also a canner and I want to make Branston pickle!!   Does anyone have a recipe?  I also wouldn't mind some info on where to buy it in the meantime!  :-)

Well these are the ingrdients on the jar :
Carrots, Cauliflower, Gherkins, Marrows, Onions, Rutabaga, Tomatoes, Sugar, Vinegar, Dates, Salt, Apple, Modified Starch, Lemon Juice, Colourant, Spices, Garlic Extract

I found this recipe too:http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/79/Branston_Pickle57603.shtml

Even though the recipe uses courgettes (zucchini) instead of marrow, It looks pretty good as courgettes are similar to marrow in taste. The recipe also doesnt use tomatoes, but I'm sure this will work out fine as the pickle doesn't have a very tomatoey taste. Maybe you could add tomato paste at the end if you wanted it to have a tomato taste?

Hope this is of help.

If you've a Wegman's in your area, you may find it in the "ethnic" aisle (aren't we all "ethnic"??). When I lived in NJ, I was delighted to find Branston's, picallili, and Golden Syrup there (also, British Heinz baked beans, which are much less sweet than the American version).
