I just got Isa Chandra Moskowitz's Vegan With A Vengeance (and, yay- vegancooking gets an honourable mention!), which is a damn fine cookbook and you should buy it and make her rich beyond her wildest imaginings. i love this book. i use it constantly.

i also love its author, isachandra. she is an awesome person and one fantastic cook.

make the pumpkin muffins. and the mashed potatoes - spinach and garlic style. oooh, and the tempeh bacon. oh and so many other things! i've bought five copies of this book already because i feel like every vegan i know should have it.

Second that cookbook recommendation. I got an advance copy of it, and I've been drooling over it for a couple months now, paralyzed by a list of over 20 things I want to make. But that's how I related to cookbooks.

I totally get the "rationalise that it is homemade and involves tofu and that this balances out the sugar and chocolate" factor. :-D

I preordered it and got it as soon as it came out, too. I made the "crispy" peanut butter cookie recipe, and they came out very soft and crumbly. I'm pretty sure I screwed it up, though, by using store brand peanut butter instead of all natural. Oh well. Everyone still loved them. If I weren't so lazy I'd be cooking from it much more, I'm sure.

i went through the tags looking for something to do with the organic tofu in my fridge..can i just thank you because this was AMAZING. my non vegan father even ate it, that was an accomplishment. now to go work off those calories :-P
