I was watching an old episode of Friends when I suddenly realized where so many Fanfiction depictions of Luna come from.  She's Phoebe on Friends.

Ugh Neville is Ross. NOOO. Ross irritates me so much.

And Ross is all into paleontology kinda like Neville and plants. And he has a domineering sort of female relative in his past. Ish. And he had that monkey, which could be Neville... I'm stretching this a lot.

I've seen a lot of stuff on TV (and in books) that I knew inspired fanfiction versions of canon characters.

I love when Hermione's made into this sweet, brainy girl you see on so many shows and movies. That's just not the Hermione we know and love. I mean, sure, she has a soft side and of course she's brainy, but sweet? Sweet girls don't do the things Hermione's done.

Yes Hermione has her cunning and ruthless side more often than sweet. Just trying to help Harry fight Voldemort would take all the sweet naivete away.
