Of NaNoWriMo

So, I'm going to talk about NaNo because I need to vent and because I need advice. I'm having issues with length on this particular novel. You know how the last one I wrote was around 97k? Well, this one feels like I'm about a fifth of the way through. It's 38k long already. That means I'm going to wind up with a 170k long novel -- probably more.

It's longer than the first three, I think and then shorter than the others. Lol, I think GoF is like, 200k. And yes, it is rather amusing and ridiculous :D

i was looking through your blogs and i swear i hadn't seen this before. so my previous comment is answered....and i nearly had a heart attack coz i'm not sure if you realise but your story is practically about me. except there is no boy in my life and i'm not to desperate to fit in.
and also, i think you might have a career in writing blurbs. that was a brilliant summary.

Basically, that entire 'brilliant' summary of mine got stuffed around, so, I dunno, I don't think it's about you. Basically I got sick of reading about nice people, so all of my characters in this are evil or superficial, or annoying.

Plus, you are not an IVF child (yes, I ripped that off Laura's life, don't tell her) AND you don't have a crazy, evil half brother who hates your guts. AND I dunno, you didn't move to New York... You can read it later and decide whether it's like your life. Maybe I unintentionally ripped off your life, lol sorry. Don't worry, I'm ripping off my life way more obviously in my next bit of writing :D It's so much fun writing about myself, but I feel kind of egotistical.

The apple story is on a massive hiatus, I got to about 90k and despaired because I'd made all of the characters too evil. I've finished another manuscript now,The Outlook is Bleak and I'm currently querying that one in the hopes of finding myself a literary agent :)

Lol, no dw you didn't come off as a stalker at all :) I was more just like 'Huh, I have no internet profile, how was I found??'. Stalkers are scary, you came off as a nice person. But yeah, Sarah Maas' journal is pretty awesome.
