My house, which I bough 4 years ago today (!), has been reassessed for tax purposes by My City, to be worth $65K more than I bought it for. Now, when I bought it, I bought it very near to the price my bank thought it was worth, at which time My City thought it was worth $35K more than that. Still, it's nice to appreciate. So to speak

If only this were true, she said bitterly. (Well, somewhat bitterly. I had kind of a shock looking at a chunk of hair last week, is my point.)
