My mini=OED was from the BoMC in the mid-70's: 20 bucks then, so probably around $80? in today's money.

So $40 sounds like a reasonable price.

Oooh! I have that 2-vol miniaturized OED! I got it for free from my mother's husband Fred, though, so, even better. (It was after they cleared out his house when he moved in with my Mom, so his granddaughter could move into his old place across the street; so they were both like, "TAKE IT, PLEASE", because my Mom's house is tiny.)
