Not a real pun: 'Venn shall we three meet again' doesn't make sense on its own. The essence of a pun is something that works on two (or more) levels, and this only works on one. Try again.

It does have two levels - you've got the Macbeth quote, and you've got the three sets meeting :-) (I love it...)

It doesn't have two levels, because 'Venn will we three meet again' isn't a line from Shakespeare.

'Super Cally Go Ballistic, Celtic are Atrocious' has two levels because it makes sense as a headline as well as sounding like something else. 'Venn will we three meet again' doesn't make sense; it's not even grammatical.

"When shall we three meet again in thunder, lightning, or in rain? When the hurlyburly 's done, when the battle 's lost and won "

It's a pun, so mixing up Venn and when is completely alowed, and is the point of it :)

Do you mind if I pass this one on (with full credit of course)? It's wonderful...

Please do and ignore my previous comment as it already has shall despite what the above panonymous commentator seems to be saying.

You might like hanging around the place anyway - they appreciate puns :-)

That is pretty brilliant.

Are all maths jokes terrible?

(here via andrewducker, though only because I missed ashfae's earlier post)

(P.S. Hello! I also studied Physics & Philosophy. Not at Oxford though.)

What do you get of you cross a pig with a dog?

Magnitude of Pig, Magnitude of dog, sine the angle between them

What do you get if you integrate 1 over cabin? Natural Log cabin

Errrmm.

So Yes.

What do you get if you cross a rock-climber with a malaria-carrying mosquito?

Don't be ridiculous, you can't cross a scaler with a vector!

...indeed.
