This Will Probably Depress You

Feb 12, 2009 23:36

Since Sunday evening, I've not been feeling well. I have this ever-growing laundry list of things I want and need to do, and no ability to really do them. Here's a bunch of things that have been running through my head repeatedly as I lie in bed staring at the television. I'm getting them out of my brain so that there will be room for other ( Read more... )

I think about you a lot. Just so you know. I rarely know what to say, but I do think about you and pray for you. *HUGS*

And I do appreciate it.
Since I'm into the "bad sci-fi movie" territory now, there's not really much to be said other than "Watch out for government agents" and "I hope 'the accident' doesn't scar you physically."

Yeah, but if I lived closer, I'd be a whole lot fatter, for the same reason.

Before I even read this post, I was thinking that maybe getting in really good shape would help with the migraines and then I read your post and was like "well that was a dumb idea." My husband is really prone to depression, but if he is in good shape/eats right, nothing bothers him. With all the interesting positive effects of being in shape/eating healthy/being a skinny bitch, I wonder if it would help? Not sure how you'd go about it if your head is killing you constantly though....

What alternative medicines/treatments have you tried so far for the migraines? You just listed vitamins, what else?

Actually, right before this nearly-three-year-long migraine, I was seeing a personal trainer and working out regularly. It never helped my head at all, but the rest of me always felt accomplished exhaustion afterward. It's one more thing on the list of activities I used to enjoy, but can't any more ( ... )

I knew you'd done a lot of things, and the only things I was going to suggest were acupuncture and hypnotherapy. I've done hypnotherapy and I think it works, so I suggest it. Unfortunately it's 110-150 dollars an hour, depending on whether or not your insurance will pay. I'm assuming your parents purchased you a private plan so I doubt it pays for that. Group rated insurance is the only way to get something like that paid for.

I think Ryan is right about hypnotherapy and encourage you to do that based on my experiences. And maybe more acupuncture. In your case, I think non-traditional methods could potentially be what works...at least I hope it works! :-)

Yikes, that's kind of expensive.
I've got Blue Cross insurance that my parents got for me years and years ago, which I'm probably going to keep until a) I die or b) we get socialized health care, because my migraines aren't a "pre-existing condition" on this policy, but they would be on any new one. I might have to call the oh-so-friendly folks in Raleigh about it, see if hypnotherapy would be covered, considering I've tried quite literally everything else.
