As I said to yattaboe, "I really don't know what to do with myself now that our country is going to be run by a politician who, in all likelihood, actually wants to help people." It's such a new and different feeling.

His acceptance speech seemed pretty good on this to me: he speaks of wanting to work with all Americans, of making mistakes/mis-starts etc, but of listening to the people... I mean, it sounded pretty for the people to me.

Speeches are one thing.
But, Obama seems to actually believe most of what he's saying and legitimately want to improve this country. I really don't know what to do with myself now that our country is going to be run by a politician who, in all likelihood, actually wants to help people.

Sure speeches are one thing, but it's a good start! Holy crap, just having a president that can get through a speech is nice. And I agree, it kind of makes your head explode!

Just having a President who pronounces the word "nuclear" correctly feels like a major improvement.

A representative of the Fawkes family, however, issued this statement: "Yeah, baby, yeah! I'm the Mad Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight! Yeah, baby, yeah!"

Of course! Guy Fawkes Day! I don't know why I didn't realize that until I read, "the Fifth of November," stopped reading, frowned and then, *light bulb* it dawned on me. How clever of you. There's a fun fact!

Well, having read and watched "V for Vendetta," November 5 is ingrained in my memory a little more than most folks'.

I am excited at the prospects of having someone in power who can affect real changes, he has a full legislative branch to support him, and he's almost assuredly gonna get to pick a justice. In all honesty, I don't care if things are great or if they go to hell, either way it will be quite the ride, and I'm all about exciting rides. And ofcourse, there is always the chance that it will go good. In which case... good show.

one last thing

I love exciting rides, too, but I love them a lot more if I don't lose all my pocket change and my new camera. Or my life savings.
