I'm almost done with my Halloween costume. And when I say "I," I mean "my mom and dad have done most of the work for me because I can't think clearly most of the time." Have you tried any techniques like having a running dialogue with yourself aloud? "I'm going to assemble the goggles using these pieces by taking this lens and..."

Oh, that's what I was doing.
OK, I need to create a template to cut out this piece of leather. To do that, I need to use this too-small template, but extend the temple. Then, I need to cut out the lenses from these old-people-cataracts-sunglasses.
That kind of thing. But it didn't work that well, because I was constantly saying to myself what I needed to do, looking down at the material, and then spacing out completely. I knew there was something I needed to do, I knew it involved what I was looking at, I knew what I wanted the finished product to be, but I just couldn't piece it together in my head. Infuriating.
