I'm so happy to hear you had a nice time! I think there must be some psychological component to it, too--you were doing something out of the ordinary that you were looking forward to. I bet your brain was flooded with neurotransmitters that it's normally deprived of and that helped.

It's a distinct possibility. So, I'm going to give it another month to make doubly sure.

Oh! And I almost forgot: NEBO!

Did you mean to post this in 1997, when the Squirrel Nut Zippers were relevant?

Har-dee-har.
I don't really see a band that plays Dixieland jazz- and swing-inspired music to be the kind of band that can lose its "relevance." If you like the music and it gets you up and moving, it's just as relevant as it was when it was released. I mean, people still go see AC/DC in concert and it's not 1981. Miles Davis and John Coltrane are still just as innovative and brilliant as they were in 1962.

Yeah, but AC/DC, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane weren't one-hit wonders.

But I'm messing with you anyway. :)

I really wish that whole "swing revival" thing would've lasted longer. For about eight months, I was one of the coolest people in school. And then I went right back to loving stuff most people have never heard of.
