The Diamond Age

A full review is forthcoming, but I'm completely engrossed in the audiobook version of this Neal Stephenson novel from Audible. I can't ever seem to make a Neal Stephenson book sound compelling when I describe it; they always come across as strange hybrids of fiction and textbook but I can't seem to get enough of it. And, it's because they're the only place you can get codecs for their AA files. And, even once you have the software, like, if you got the book from someone else? You gotta have a new password, so what's the point of file sharing amongst friends if you'd have to buy their stuff in the end anyways?

I think the point is that if you buy the book, you can't just give it out to everyone, which means they have to buy the book, too. I'd rather they didn't use DRM, but this is actually pretty well-done and doesn't really interfere with my listening. So, it's not quite as bad as most.
