Yeah, I am outraged enough over the sharing of call info to the government. Damn Big Brother is everywhere. It is absolutely amazing to me how so many people don't see a problem with the government having access to your call info without a warrant. Oh but it's just to combat terrorism, right? We have to keep our country safe from the enemy, whomever that is. I am so sick of this fear mongering.

This latest bit of news that you wrote about just now has further outraged me and I will be calling Verizon tomorrow to find out how much it will cost me to drop my calling plan with them. I'm tired of my lack of a signal at my house anyway when people with other service providers have a strong signal at my abode.

No, this isn't to combat any terrorism. This is in pursuit of the almighty dollar.

And if you're unhappy with your service, by all means complain. Thing is, Verizon's probably got the best overall signal in our area. Especially among CDMA carriers (Sprint, Verizon, Alltel), but there might be one out there where you get a better signal. Invite people with different cell carriers over to your house to see who has the best overall signal. Maybe have them make test calls to a land line.

HA! For years I told everyone to not JUST get a cell phone. But they were like, "No, it's easier and I won't get any telemarketers!"
Shyeah. Right.

I'm not sure about telemarketers, but I'm certain I don't want any more junk mail or spam.

You did also hear that Verizon, like AT&T, has admitted to handing over information to the government without a subpoena. They mentioned that on Buzz Out Loud earlier this week.

All the major telcos bent over for the NSA.
It's one of the things I hate about our current socio-political climate.
