This piece has got beautiful physical and emotional momentum, and I love your dialogue as always. Even without having seen the show, I enjoyed reading it for the intricacy and layered, careful honesty in the game they play.
Favorite phrases:
She was all smooth warmth, familiar and far beyond him. He felt the ice in his heart melting to seek its home under her breast and broke away, fearing the emptiness that would be left.
You read it! Wow! I'm so pleased. And I'm very glad that you liked it too, even without the background. (My first attempt not to fade to black--but it's not exactly graphic.) Thanks so much.
I think the sex is more a soft R than a hard R, but then I'm jaded perhaps. :) It is more emotional than explicit, and it seems evocative of other connections between them. (And for that reason, a fade to black would have made it a different story, of course, or even a less-than-complete story.)
After reading this, I finally understand the joke in that Sark icon you used to post this story, too. *g*

I tend to rate everything I write "R" for violence or language or mature themes. To be honest, the whole ratings thing is an enormous mystery to me. I appreciate knowing whether a story is NC-17 when I go in, but aside from that I don't much care.

Heh. I'm not sure whether or not I believe that Irina is Sark's (biological) mother. I don't know that it matters. And I've realized just why I find Alias such a good universe to fanfic in--it's really just like the Pity/Pain/Articled universe, except the Bookman family would be comparatively healthy, compared to the Alias characters.

But seriously, this is perfect. History, tension, intimacy, and violence all wrapped into one little Freudian bundle. I love it.

and this little exchange:
"One day I may surprise you."
"Oh," she said, "I expect it, one day."
