WOOT! Like I said, I really love that line about fearing to learn to love the weapons. Here there be dragons

And the story still clings to Sarah's *ordinariness*, which I think is a vital part of the character.

I think Sarah's original ordinariness is such an important part of her character, even now -- that she sees herself as having become something very different. And that John is the special one, and she isn't -- she does what she has to do, but I don't think she sees herself as the hero of the story. (Although I think John sees her that way.)
