Hi! I usually lurk here quietly but I have been an (exercise-hating) beginning runner myself and know how much it deserves congratulations, so: congratulations! *g* I was surprised how quickly the habit formed - I found stuff like your going out on the Wednesday crucial, to get changed and drag myself out regardless of whether I did anything useful that day, and then within a couple of months it was just something I did.

Thank you!

yes, I'm really hoping it ends up being a habit I form -- one thing I like is that I don't run for very long at this point, so it isn't a huge addition to my morning schedule. It doesn't feel like a burden.

Yay running!! I run so I can drink, so I definitely approve of your scheme.

Thank you! I think that I basically run so that I don't have to deny my sweet tooth all the time. It makes sense to me, anyway!

That's fantastic! I've totally slacked on running/exercise, but plan to restart again this weekend. Maybe we can all go for a run (ha ha!) in December when you're here! :)

I am very weak and languid, though. You would be embarrassed to be seen out with me!

We can go running at the same time, and you can mock me.

Go u on the running! I'm a jogging fan and occasionally do practice it, but when September starts it rains a lot here, so I started Yoga and I'm in exactly the same phase as you: trying not to flake out even when i really really want to. So...uhm. *sends you non-flaking vibes*

Have you tried milk before sleeping? I know it sounds stupid, but it works for me.

My problem isn't that I have trouble falling asleep -- I've been waking up around 4 am and been unable to fall back to sleep. At least, that's what it feels like. I think it's probably just anxiety about work, and will calm down in a couple weeks.

I have never liked running, but it just seems the most efficient way of getting some exercise. ::sends non-flaking vibes back to you, too::

Ah. I know that one. I got it my first week back to work too. Waking up one or two hours earlier than the alarm clock. I do hope your internal clock adjusts soon.

*feeling very non-flaky*

Yay running! I get to run tomorrow, excellent. The real question is (a) do I do the Very Long Run Of Doom; and (b) if so, do I bring TNG? She's done close to 4 miles with no problems, but...

It's a shame your posh gym closed, because it is hard to keep running in the winter in your climes...

I think I may join the Y, which has a big room with running machines in it. I'm hoping for a dry winter, though.

I guess it would be bad if TNG became exhausted and demanded to be carried home or something, hunh?

Yes, that would be bad, because the Very Long Run is up in the hills, on single-track. It's beautiful and quiet, but a long ways from the car...

I can just imagine you carrying TNG down the mountain... she's not exactly tiny, I imagine.
