5. John doesn't talk about Mary much, really, and when he does it's usually like that, a mix of half-truths and outright lies. He hoards the truth to himself: the color of the sun in her hair, the sound of her laugh, the way she smelled after a shower. The look on her face, as she died. The boys don't need to know that, not any of it.
Oh, John. You can see it in all of these, but its like John just can't let any piece of her go... not the real her... not even to Dean or Sam. Like he's afraid if he talks about the real her he'll start to forget.
I really adore the one about Eric, especially since he and Jake weren't close and have had all sorts of conflicts. But they're still family, and woe betide anyone who harms him. *love*
