randomness and a rec

Among the things that make vaznetti happy, the following may be found:

  • the fact that her car started this afternoon, despite the weather and the fact that she hasn't used it for two weeks;
  • the lamb chops she's thinking of cooking for dinner, unless she decides on eggs and bacon instead, because being able to eat breakfast for dinner is one of the best ( Read more... )

Soooooooo true. I actually think I eat breakfast more than any other meal.

I remember how awed I was in grad school when friend mentioned it -- I was all, you can do that? But it's tasty, fast and nutritious. Well, low on green vegetables, I admit, but you can't have everything.

It's always possible to eat the green vegetables at lunch instead, after all.

Hm. Yes, I guess. Do apples and bananas count? or are they excluded on the "fruits and not actually green" rubric?

Excellent all round, and huzzahs especially for the car! I had to click out of the story and save the last two seasons for later, though, because I find it's hitting a bit of a nerve. Food first! (I laugh and laugh because I had bacon and eggs for dinner last night. Food of the gods.)

(And because I'm curious: do you find that taking notes/rafting in longhand affects the writing process one way or another?)

I just have an irrational fear of my car. Irrational.

And yes, the story is sad, but bacon and eggs are in fact the food of the gods, I agree completely.

And because I'm curious: do you find that taking notes/rafting in longhand affects the writing process one way or another?

Well, it means that I write. I have to compose in longhand, actually, because I can almost never make up a story as I type. Plus, it means that I write something kind of rough, and then revise it as I type it up. Things that I write longhand don't entail th same kind of pressure.

Also, typing means I'm on the computer, which allows me to distract myself too easily.

I went for the lamb chops, and they were indeed yummy.

all the really interesting posts still coming out of last week's Supernatural, which I should do a big linking post to someday.

Actually, this would be great. I've had a hellish few days and haven't had a chance to read any meta on it, but it was a very 'thinky' episode so I'd love to catch up. If it's not too much work.

I've had time to skim them, but not comment or really do any thinking myself -- I'll put together a post this evening, after work.
