You know the kind of things you write when you're trying to shake something else loose? This is one of those things. Alias; Sark. Set some time in the current season, I expect. Under 200 words. Work-safe, and probably of interest only to me.

Hah! Exactly! "To liars, killers and whores!" has such a ring to it. And while I can easily imagine Khasinau declaiming it, it's equally delicious to think of it uttered with a kind of meditative lilt, many years later, in Sark's pretty voice. Lovely.

Thank you! I have this mental image of a drunken Khasinau and an increasingly panicked young Sark, as he realized what Khasinau is actually saying to him.

I can't shake my fascination with the dynamic there -- Sarik, Irina and Khasinau as a kind of substitute family, at least for Irina -- but maybe it was more real to Sark at least.

Thnak you! I liked the way this managed to show some kind of progression (or maybe regression, one can never tell with Sark), despite its brevity. And I enjoy writing to word limits -- I like the discipline. But really, I'm just thrilled to be able to finish something.

Sark!

I've missed reading Alias fic. This is great stuff esp. the three sisters fairy tale. Love the toast. But I think my favorite part is the first paragraph. You get that indifference, but also the the angst we see in Sark.

Thank you! I've always seen Sark as somewhat vulnerable. I mean, obviously he covers that up perfectly well if he needs to, but it doesn't mean that the vulnerability isn't there. he's so young, on the one hand, but you get the sense that he's never been a child.
