rina... He never expected to be free of Irina. If her turns his head, he thinks, he'll see her out of the corner of his eye, watching him, disappointed in the sentimentality he displayed by coming here. She will smile, and he will go to her.
Oh, I picked the right day to come back and read my "essentials"! This is lovely. I don't know whether I've ever mentioned my gratitude for the air of--vulnerability isn't quite the right word, but something human like that, that you give Sark. It underscores his solitude, which is central to (my ideas about) the character.
I think Sark is a very disturbed young man, and I try to express that when I write him. He's done some very bad things, and I suspect that he's suffered some very bad things as well, and he's just not sure how all that shakes down. I think that's the not-quite-vulnerability thing. I'm glad you liked this -- I hope it helps me back into the "writing" groove.
How have you been, anyway? I've missed seeing you around here.

I miss you too. I don't seem to be able to communicate at all recently. I'm glad you're writing fanfic again.

I'd like to write more fanfic, now that the desperate lecture-writing has come to an end for a few months. We'll see.
