Films, gigs, zombies - oh my!

1. Happy birthday 3kame! So many of the VH crowd have dropped away. I'm glad you haven't.

2. So the link is Facebook, but Adelaide Zombie Walk 2008. Having seen a number of zombie walks in the flesh (fnar fnar), I feel a rather large dose of regional pride at how damned fine the Adelaidian effort was. That's some seriously good makeup ( Read more... )

I don't like zombies. I can't, in fact, cope with zombies unless in anime form. So why did I click that link? *hiding under cushion*

I really wish I could've gone to the BFI, but total lack of money and the miserable cold I came down with over Saturday evening meant it was probably just as well I couldn't make it... Still, at least you enjoyed quite a few of them! :)

You probably thought the makeup was going to be lame Halloween makeup. It's like everyone took a crash course in cinematic skin effects.

Ah, but you had Brad love, material purchases = comfort and joy, and cosplay fun instead. So despite the nasty cold, you did pretty well...

hee between entry fees, food and merchandise, we probably spent the same - just your pretties are tangibles.

*still hiding under cushion* That they did. O_O

This is very, very true. *huggles Akihiko* Actually, that reminds me, I have to go make a gushing Persona post at some point...

I walked past that CCTV mural today and *knew* there had to be a story behind it. Thanks for the link!

Ah cool - I wasn't sure if you were still around in Web land.

To answer your question from a few days ago - if you're doing Galleries/museums etc. over the next few days in London, I'd be interested in tagging along. It's been a while since I visited most of them.

And you'd gain a kinda-local guide ;).

Excellent! I do plan on hitting up several over the next couple of days, though I haven't decided when yet. I'd like to see the Ian Fleming thing at the Imperial War Museum, pop by the National Portrait Gallery, and maybe even bite the bullet and do the V&A. The only set plan I have until I leave for Stratford Friday is the Doctor Who Exhibition Thursday at 3. So yeah! I'd love to have company. Let me know when you're free and we can go from there. My email is timidfrieda at gmail.com. :-)

I am almost positive Jin is a girl. I can't find the link again, but someone shot me a commercial/vid. Also the fanart done by one of Jin's friends for a community that Jin helps moderate is also a girl.

Hope I didn't burst your bubble. I have to admit when I found out Jin was most likely a girl, I was stunned but decided fangirling a hot chick who was a spectacular cosplayer was cool with me. ;)

If I ever find that link again, I'll let you know.

It took me forever to confirm or deny Jin's gender - I still haven't done it, really D:.

I'd always thought 'guy' - mainly because of the language used (and their description once of themselves as being pretty short for a guy, but I take your point that it might have been referring to the character being played rather than the person).

Team Tux is definitely of mixed gender - I scrolled pretty much all of their journals to find *someone* that would refer to Jin by name, rather than character, followed by a gendered pronoun. I FAILED.

The attitude to Yaoi shots also made me think Jin was male, but again, being squicked doesn't mean automatically male.

Here's the thing - unless this is some way OTT ruse, Jin and Nejin are referred to as twins by commenters. Nejin talks about her brother. I assume Jin is the brother she is referring to. Yes, they definitely share similar features. But, Nejin has no problems posing with Miguel, where Jin does.

Compare Nejin and Miguel with Jin and Miguel - particularly when his journal is hiijacked ( ... )

Man, it is a pretty elaborate ruse then - especially with the Nejin journal being moved 'to stop confusion'. heh.

I've not seen the couch shot... URL?

Also the Ichigo casual shots - ordinary tee, but quite tight.
