Oh the sight seeing sounds like so much fun!

I want to get to England so badly some day. I'd love to take my boys to see it all. I hope they are more adventurous than I was and actually take the time to study abroad or at least travel more.

I'm such a homebody. I hate leaving my own bed behind when we go places. I am such a baby. XD

One thing I love about the whole 'walk until you can't walk any more' approach to tourism, is that I'm usually so tired that the bed issue no longer bothers me. Otherwise I do a fairly good impression of the pea princess. Clearly her problem is that she was far too rich and thus had idle time on her hands... so she developed sleeping disorders ( ... )

Well my boys are 2 and 7 so it's a little hard to tell yet. I think if my mother could go my oldest would go with her anywhere in a heart beat. They are so inseparable. My youngest who knows. Right now he's still in the carry me everywhere mommy stage. I hope he grows out of it soon. It's tough lugging around 35 pounds.

I went to Germany at 16 for 5 weeks and loved it immensely. I'd love to travel someday, but with only my hubby working we don't really have an opportunity to save any money.

It's so cool your family travels so much now. I think that's just great when you have the opportunity.

Who was odd, wasn't it? I'll admit I was distracted for quite a lot of it, so I'm probably not the best judge, but too much of it didn't really add up, for example the 7 day war seemingly lasting generations, and Jenny was really quite grating. Besides, can you say backdoor pilot? (Is that how the ending was altered? Was she meant to stay dead?) I'm hoping she doesn't come back, but I know I'm going to be horribly disappointed...

The 7 day war lasting generations did not bother me as much as the idea that there were no survivors from 7 days ago - or that computer data could get corrupted in that time.

One of the mailing lists I was on had someone who summed it up quite well:

High Babe Quotient Makes Plot Redundant.

The intial plot was that she was to die. The commentary makes it clear that that was overruled by Moffat, and in the Confidential Tennant does this eye-brow wiggly thing to make it clear than this is supposed to be of great import.

Another person on my flist described her as a Mary-Sue. She's also the very model of a Moffat-style Protagonist... oh, so tempted to sing that now a-la Gilbert and Sullivan.

It's the 'hallo boys' that made me cringe more than anything else.

Hi! We always seem to have interesting side conversations over on robshearman's entries, so I figured it only made logical sense to friend you. Hope that doesn't seem too terribly presumptuous. :-D

...as opposed to 'illogical sense'? I shouldn't type before I think, really. *smacks self* At any rate, hello!

I quite like the idea of 'illogical sense' actually! Kind of like the truth that comes only from madness...

I have never needed to worry about my friending policy, and most of my LJ is publically open anyway, but please! Welcome! And feel free to drop comments so I know I'm not alone on teh interwebz so we can generate similar conversations without spamming Rob's journal ;-).

Yeah, the more I think about it, I agree!

LJ's such a weird thing. Some people are very particular about the whole friending shebang, and I'm very not. Still, I like to mind my p's and q's. :-)

Anyway. Spam minimalization, more conversation. Sounds like a win-win to me!

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never seen Pygmalion live. My immediate point of reference is always My Fair Lady, which makes me feel a bit of a plebe.

Also, I live within driving distance of a place called Dinosaur World that sounds everything and nothing like the place at Crystal Palace. I think ours is probably more accurate, but it doesn't make up for it being 150% kitschier. :-D
