I love your cooking posts. Makes me research and add to my experiment list. I miss halloumi so badly, but there are no good Mediterranean restaurants or markets in the middle of a corn field. (lol) And I will be reading your new fic soon, probably tomorrow after I wake up!
Halloumi hasn't made it to the supermarket chains either? Oh man, I feel your pain. Nothing makes me happier than the sound of squeaky cheese when eating. It's like the cheese is making nom nom noises in its own tongue.
I'd have liked to have written you some Chad for a birthday surprise - but he's not talking at the moment.
I suppose it's likely to find it in suburban Chicago markets, but unfortunately, that's a three hour drive for a block of cheese.

Hahahaha! That's the best description I've ever seen for it. :D I've got a friend who is hearing impaired and has a cochlear implant. She usually can only hear very sharp frequencies (like very squeaky doors) and loud resonating things like rock shows in clubs. But she could hear the squeaky cheese. That made it even more fun. :)
Waggledance? And Vagabonds was last weekend? :( I'm really going to have to try and go again, and to make more of an effort to dress up properly!
The squid sounds fun, but I doubt I'd have the guts to cook it, so can I ask for the recipe for Vietnamese prawn & glass noodle salad instead? Pretty please? :)
It'd normally be on the weekend just gone, but because of the Gothik Treffen Festival in Leipzig, being then, it was bumped to the week before instead.
Heheh PLB got given a word about dress code at the door - he'd gone in cargo's with beige sneakers. Spent the eve grumbling about alternatives being so alternative there's a uniform. But he ended up going home early. Oh! And there was a living breathing Ishida there. Same hair, glasses, thin jeans and pointy shoes, who danced like a dork, but danced to every track AND KNEW ALL THE WORDS.
If that isn't Ishida, I don't know what is.
Fishmongers often will do the cleaning for you - or you can sometimes get them fresh/frozen at supermarkets all sparkle clean and nothing like a dead animal at all.
I've not made this one yet - so the recipe hasn't been tweaked at all:
*laughs* Oh man if they figure out how to make the baby boomers in this country live longer we are so fucked. ;)
That jellyfish crop circle was really pretty. I wish the artists who did that stuff would take credit, instead of giving the nutballs more to squee over. :D
I loved the space links. I looked up beta pictoris. I can still remember how excited I was way back in grade school when it was "discovered". Great trip down memory lane. ;)
The butterfly one had me totally laughing my ass off. Thanks I really needed that.

Thanks much for the recipe! Sounds relatively quick and simple, so I'll be sure to give it a shot! :)

I was hoping that there was going to be a picture of him taken of him in here so I could go "Look!" but, alas.
I have to remember to buy the noodles tonight - they didn't come with my shopping.
