Did you guys kickstart it? Or ... something? I feel like I heard about this from my husband, who, in addition to being a big, big nerd and following most of the movers and shakers of the RPG industry on twitter, also stalks RPG stuffs on kickstarter.

And I feel like I've heard about this before, and not from you.

BUT ANYWAY! Even if I haven't, that's super exciting! :D :D It looks nifty! And it sounds awesome. The lighter the weight of an RPG, the higher the chance I'll like it!

Also, I see it's being demoed at Gen Con! Are you going to be at Gen Con?! Jesse and I have contemplated going, but if there was a chance to even momentarily see you, it would be so worth it!

:D

We actually didn't do a Kickstarter for it; it was all self-funded. But Dave has probably been posting snippets around a lot; we've been trying to get the word out in any way possible. So your husband might have stumbled across it through some other means :D

Alas, I won't be at Gen Con :( I think just Dave is going to that. (I can't afford plane tickets, blarrrrg!)

And I totally hear you about the chance of liking an RPG. I played some D&D recently, and while it was fun, I would have been SO lost without friends who knew the system well. Whereas with LWRPG, the book is *gasp* interesting to read, easy to understand, and even just proofreading it was getting me excited about the options and settings and things I wanted to try. Hooray!

Yay! :D

Yeah, that's definitely one of the big drawbacks of the big systems currently out there. With Light Weight, we really tried to keep the cost reasonable, and while we might come out with supplemental stuff in the future, it won't be necessary to buy; all you really will need is the main rule book and some creativity. :)
