Does anyone have problems with tags disappearing that have an # in them?

At the daily_snitch we tag content with tags like
# jkr news
# cursed child
# hot rec
etc.

All those tags have disappeared. Not on the posts, but in the list of tags and on the page where tags can be changed.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I think something's afoot at LJ - I've clicked two links now that were crossposted from Dreamwidth and none of them work, and content isn't showing the way it's supposed to. Perhaps we wait for a couple of hours if it's going to be fixed and then ring the church bells with the technical support. It's infuriating not to have working things at hand! :P

Oh, I hadn't noticed about the crossposting bug yet. I keep waiting, too, for another day or two and then send in a support request.

Some time ago they turned everything starting with a hashtag into a site search link. This sounds like it might be related? Maybe they've rolled out more "new functionality" that no one wanted and that actually breaks old functionality ...

Yes, I think you're right.
Only, our tags used to totally work with the hashtag up until last Friday. I wonder what changed.

Every time I've posted a Prophet entry that includes the DracoHarry100 challenge (e.g. #514 most recently) I've got an error message saying they couldn't include the tag #514... but I hadn't attempted to add ANY tags (I never do!)

Same with the Snitch. Or rather, whenever we had a challenge with a number #, it would turn it into a tag. *headdesk*

I was glad to see mine gone, because I was tired of LJ automatically creating a "hashtag" tag for me, when I posted that something was "Prompt #__".

I wonder if people complained, and they responded by removing them all?

That's possible. I wish they would have announced it, though. We could have changed our tags within 5 minutes. Now they are gone from everywhere but the posts, and we cannot change them anymore. :(

I really don't understand what they are doing with the #

but it's super frustrating that it's effected the tags we already had in place.

I think they turned the # into an automated hashtag. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE!!! Not every time someone uses the # symbol, they want a hashtag of it.
