That reminds me of an incident when I was in 8th grade. Apparently, one of my fellow students reported me for making a gun with my hand and pointing it at a friend of mine. I was brought to the Principal's office, where the Principal, Boy's Assistant Principal, and a Police Officer assigned to our school had a little inquisition for me concerning the matter. Nevermind that I was a model student; nevermind that I had reported a pipe bomb casing shown to me that same year.

Goering and Himmler would have been proud.

It seems like everytime I see one of these, it winds up with some school board official back pedaling and claiming that next time they'll use "some common sense." Hello? How about using common sense everytime?

Because some parent will find out that the principal "let the kid off the hook" and will get all pissy at the school. School admins are put in tight places. :-/

It's the case of fear. How many times have decisions been made (aka wrong decisions) due to fear? Yes, you have to take weapons seriously in this day and age. Most unfortunate. However, schools have become so incredibly fearful of...shit, everything. IT doesn't help that the school is to blame, no matter what. Parents are no longer responsible for the raising of their children.
