This is beautiful. I know you didn't intend to write a masterpiece -- you're just telling us this story -- but your prose is pristine.

You need to be a writer.

Orion, what a timeless and spectacular constellation. Whenever I look at it I imagine the power that now emanates from that cluster of little lights. I stand there and I look and I can see it through the eyes of the first upright-walking man who used it as a directional marker and I honour him for his ingenuity. I can see through the eyes of the leader of a nomadic group of families as they made their way across the deserts of Africa and how it gave him the strength and comfort to know that things will always have consistency, and I honour his dedication. I see it through the eyes of Priests of ancient Egypt as they helped align the Pyramids and I honour them for their faith. I can see it through the eyes of the first Archæologist who rendered the theory that those ancient priests had done such and understood the ancient Egyptian culture so much more for it, I honour him for his vigilance. I see Orion through the eyes of the young boy who first questioned "why I am here and is there more?", I honour him for his wonder ( ... )
