Once he's back from his canon update, Supey would be up for helping with the Defense force. Not in any sort of leadership type role, but he could definitely make sure things get done when they need to get done.

Failing that, Simon could help with the supervisory elements, since once he explores enough and meets enough people, he can essentially know what everyone's doing and where at any given time.

But yes, both would probably get involved in some way! Supey is, well, a superhero, and Simon believes it's his entire purpose in life to help people and keep them safe from things that would hurt them. So once he finds out about this there's no real reason he wouldn't get involved in some capacity.

They'll have different tasks and patrol schedules and all; for the most part it's all handwaved until things happen, but you can assume they'll be put in charge of watching out for people even when things are peaceful.
