Jack was rarely one to pass up someone in need of help and a wet young girl, clearly new, was no exception. Pulling a towel from one of his large trench-coat pockets, the captain strode up to the girl with a small smile.
"Hey there, looking a little lost. Sorry to say that's not unusual here; you might need this." He held the towel out to her, it wasn't as good as dry clothes, but it was better than nothing.
"I bet. And, it's Jack...or captain, not 'sir.' You'd probably like to know what this place is? It's called Vatheon. Think Atlantis except less aliens and more....something. The locals call it magic but...well, let's just say I call it fancy technology.
And, before you ask, I'm sorry...but there's no way to get back to wherever you were before." He gave her a sympathetic look. Just because he was happy here and hadn't minded coming here in the first place didn't mean it was like that for everyone.
Hey, she was raised to respect her elders which was something not many actually do now, right? But what caught her interest was that the place she was in was under the sea due to the mention of Atlantis but the alien part kind of threw her off. Well, studying magic, she wanted to say it existed but Maddie had to admit that there was technology based in it with the morphers and the zords.
But she decided not to bring it up to the nice man, he was helping her out after all.
"So someone decided to pull us to this place? Why exactly?"
"Geez, they just get worse and worse. At least most of the time they have the decency to do their kidnappings during the day." Say hello to the glowing kid floating nearby.
Someone's holding a jacket out to you. It's hard to tell where he's looking with the sunglasses on, but he does speak. "You're going to get fucking sick. Believe me, getting sick sucks. My dumbass of a friend got me sick already, so you don't want to get sick." Why was he out at this time? Well, honestly he isn't going to answer that, but anyways.
"Jegus, I guess you need the rundown. You're in Vatheon. It's like I guess if you thought living in a bubble, under the sea was cool. Yeah, it's basically that. You can't get out, so don't waste the effort. Or do it anyways, if you really want to try. I haven't bothered."
One was that the guy offering his jacket was rather nice. Two...well, that thought went out the window when he spoke up. Nice language there.
"Thank you." she replies to him and takes the garment with gratitude. As she listened to his explanation, the feeling of being unable to contact anyone from home started sinking in, forgive the pun.
It could be worst. He could have walked on and ignore you, but he did just arrive recently, so he kind of knows how it is to arrive in this place as she is. At least he's trying to save you from perhaps getting sick. That, and he's not feeling up to being as big as a prick as he usually is.
"It's not that bad here. People are generally nice or approachable. Shit here is basically free unless you're going around the Nostalgia Nook. That shit costs stuff then." Unfortunately, he is oblivious to your sinking ship as he does have people he knows that are here. "I'm pretty sure I didn't actually cover everything. Lost my introduce new people to this place papers."

"Kidnappings? Lemme guess: common around here?"

No reception, no way to contact home, and stuck in a bubble. Might as well introduce herself to the nice kid.
"I'm Madison."

She sighs slightly and puts on a small smile. "It's alright, you helped me and I'm thankful for that. I'm Madison by the way."
