[The soaked man in black doesn't exactly look like a pleasant person, but Zelda's already decided to offer help to anyone that gets dumped into the bubble when she's present. She offers him a couple of the readily available towels.]
That is not something that can be explained simply, I'm afraid. First of all, sir... are you familiar with magic?
Those who are not tend to take the explanation a little less well, that's all. You are in the city of Vatheon. It is located underwater on an unknown planet. That large coral behind you is a magical being known as the Great Lamufao, and it pulls people from other worlds and into this one.
[She indicates the fairy at her shoulder.]
You can spot someone who has been pulled here from another world by the fairy at their shoulder. See, you have one yourself.
[He is about to say something sarcastic when she mentions the fairy. He glances at his shoulder and, true to her word, there is a little fairy floating just above his shoulder.]
And, why do I have such a thing with me? Why was I pulled here?
James had woken a few moments earlier and found it was brighter than usual and Lily wasn't next to him. He was also dressed which confused him so he walked downstairs in search of said girlfriend/wife. When he found no one, he went for a look outside, the SFC forgotten.
It was when he was walking across the Plaza that he noticed someone slightly familiar. But it couldn't be...could it?
Severus heard the voice and it registered immediately. Without conscious thought he pulled out his wand, prepared to defend himself. When his brain finally caught up the situation the wizard realized that the voice was from someone else he knew to be dead. So maybe this was the Afterlife.
Steadying himself, Severus's gaze leveled on the approaching man. James Potter. James-bane of his existence-Potter. "Potter."
But James didn't respond in kind. His wand stayed out of sight and he walked towards him less than his usually cocky self. "Wow. You're old now. Guess you lasted a lot longer than I did." His own death was something he'd come to terms with a long time ago so he didn't care who knew.
Severus noted the body language of the other man - relaxed, not aggressive or predatory as it had been in the past. Cautiously, the older wizard lowers his wand.
Lily was out grocery shopping, and happened to be passing through the Plaza when Severus arrived. She wasn't the first person he saw, but she heard the splash caused by his arrival and came over to investigate.
"Severus?" she called, jaw dropping, barely believing her eyes.
Severus's eyes widened at her approach and he was nearly bowled over when she embraced him. "Well, this is a fine 'Hello'." He tried to sound annoyed in the interest of keeping up his facade but failed.
Sirius had been having a nice night. He had been enjoying a nice walk around town, hoping to spot a friend or, at least, a new arrival in need of some help. So when he sees this new guy and hears his voice, Sirius was struck with the sudden feeling of recognition. He couldn't place it, though, not at this distance.
"You alright, there, mate? Must be new....you're in Vatheon, it's an underwater city."
"I have noticed the abundance of water," Severus grumbles as he dries his robes with a charm. That voice... The voice of the other man is setting of alarms in his head but he can't put his finger on why yet. It is only when his gaze levels on the other man that he realizes the danger he is in.
Calmly, he keeps his wand down at his side but is now ready, all parts of his being on high alert. There is no way Sirius won't recognize him once he gets closer and depending on where other man is from, time-wise, there might a lot of words before there is peace.
Sirius gives a slight scoff at the man's response and continues forward, his mind working a mile a minute. There was something in his voice. "Yeah...it's kinda hard to miss."
Closer.
"I've been here a bit, I'd be happy to..." Finally, it clicked and everything stopped. Why had it taken him that long? Sure, it was clear the man before him was from some future time compared to the rest of them just like Ron was but the similarities were still strong and he could only blame his time here in the city for making him forget.
Some of the rage he had felt that night, only a few months ago at this point, coursed through him and he whipped out his wand in a flash, training it on the older man. "It is you."
At Sirius's quick raising of his wand Severus does likewise. "I would advise you, Black, that raising your wand at me is an extremely poor course of action as well as poor manners. You should at least tell a man why you're about to blow his head off before you do it."
Sirius may have been able to catch Severus off-guard when they were in school but this time - Severus has nearly twenty years on the other man. There will be no victory for Sirius this time - perhaps a draw, though, as Severus has no desire to maim or kill.
"The Lost City of Atlantis. Congratulations." He is the most helpful child. He sneezes. Fuck getting sick. "Amazing right? Never thought Atlantis would ever be found. Too bad you can't actually get out of here."
He shrugs nonchalantly. "Welcome to Vatheon or some shit like that. No mermaids, but there's a shitton of people just like you and me stuck here."
What a charming child. Really. Severus raises an eyebrow at him. "The Lost City of Atlantis - right. As for mermaids - I didn't expect there to be such beings here as the water is out there." He points behind him to the sea beyond the bubble.
"Considering that they can get snow in this place, mermaids doesn't seem like a stretch. I haven't seen mermaids out there for that matter." He's the most charming. If you like sarcastic, insufferable pricks.
"This place, as far as I know, doesn't care who they grab and kinda just tosses us in here. The getting soaked to the bone gig is kind of fucking rude, but you'll survive. Shit is free except for the Nostalgic Nook or whatever the hell people call it. Chill and enjoy the show I guess."
