Zelda was in an excellent mood the day following Christmas. The city had returned her harp to her, her music. Her and the section of herself she had devoted to becoming a Sheikah both felt more complete. She still had to find some way to return to her people, but until then having a piece of home lightened her heart - so much so that when she saw Shizuo, she simply walked up to him smiling, his previous tantrum put in the past.

"Hello!" she called out, waving as she approached him. "I just realized... when we spoke the other day, I never gave you my name! I am Zelda. May I have yours?" she hugged her harp to her chest excitedly with one arm as she spoke. The silly girl hadn't put the thing down since she received it the previous day.

When he caught sight of Zelda, Shizuo tried to make an effort to avoid her. He looked away and kept his pace, figuring it would be best for them both if he didn't try to strike up a conversation. She had seen him, triggered by his overwhelming arrival and Izaya's name, get very angry. In fact, he had stormed off and left without even thanking her for trying to make him feel welcome.

It hadn't been one of his best moments. But he was used to it - exploding in rage and scaring people away.

He was therefore surprised when she greeted him without fear. In fact, she seemed...happy. Shizuo wasn't quite sure what to do. He pushed his glasses up and fumbled awkwardly as he turned to her. "Uh - it's Shizuo," he said. "Thanks for the other day. Sorry for...you know."

She actually paused for a moment when she heard his name. Shizuo, and he knows Izaya... Is this "Shizu-chan"? She just smiled and waved off the mention of the outburst, though.

"Please, don't concern yourself with it. Anyone would be under considerable stress after arriving here. I rather prefer that sort of reaction to crying, then I would have had to comfort you and it would have been terribly awkward, don't you think?"

The princess folded her other arm over her harp, looking up at him curiously. "Have you found your way around yet, or did you return here because you are not sure what to do next?"

She preferred that kind of reaction? No one had ever told Shizuo that they preferred to see him angry as opposed to...well, anything really - crying or not. Crying was awkward, sure, but rage was supposed to be frightening.

"I guess," he replied, though he still looked unsure. "Usually I hear that it's pretty scary." He shrugged sheepishly, and was glad for the shift in subject.

"I'm trying to learn my way around," he explained, glancing around the plaza. "It's...nice." Nice, but strange. The whole everything free bit didn't quite sit right with him.

He gestured to her harp. "Do you play?" It was probably an obvious question - why else would she be carrying it around? - but he asked anyway, because it seemed like a good transition.
