Hey, the only thing monstrous about Duncan was his behavior. And manners. And idea of a good time. Okay, so he IS a monster, in his own evil little way. He just raises a brow at just how casually the perky new arrival was taking his temper, and he was definitely confused by the whole 'fearleading' ...thing.

"...that's either the worst or most appropriate lame-o pun I've ever heard."

Sure, where he came from they did about as much cheer leading as they did fear mongering and cold, heartless pranks (which he did give 'em props for, he admired dedication), but...fearleaders? Talk about truth in advertising. Maybe Heather was one of 'em, it'd definitely explain a lot.

"And I didn't, I was just goin' by that frilly outfit you got on."

...and the fact that she was so cheerful and bubbly it made him want to start breaking things, but even Duncan could keep some thoughts to himself.

"Seein' as how you're dripping wet, either you're new, or you've been living under a rock since I got here and just decided to go for a swim in the fountain ( ... )

"You don't, you just gotta find it. Or have somebody help you look, but this is pretty much my good deed for the week as it is," Duncan explained. He probably wouldn't have found his own if it weren't for that troll dude Equius pointing it out for him. Which was one of the few good things he could say about the troll, even taking into account that he rarely had anything good to say about anyone and they weren't really 'enemies.'

"And unless you can turn into a bat or whatever, ya might wanna look into some transportation while you're here, because there's no cars or buses or anything."

"...I just hope it's not in a place I need a mirror to find it." She murmured, frowning just a little. That frown went deeper still when Duncan made the comment about turning into a bat. Way to rub it in her face! Not that he knew she couldn't turn into a bat yet.

"Is it a big place that you need help getting around?"

"It is unless ya really like walkin' places. Bike just makes it easier."

If he took notice of that frown, he didn't seem to care much. This was probably the sort of thing that kept him from being on the welcoming committee...and, y'know, considering joining it in the first place.

"You should swing by the bike shop once you get settled, I can put somethin' together if ya need it. Not like you gotta pay for it."

And now he was just going to go ahead and hope this didn't mean ungodly amounts of pink paint in his future...

"This is really going to make shopping a lot more fun, no worrying about where the cash is going to come from!"

And just like that her demeanor went back to being rather chipper, frown completely dissolved.

"So you work there, then? At the bike shop?"

And while she's busy cheering herself up with that realization, Duncan will be busy rolling his eyes. Obviously, somebody didn't share her love of shopping. And Duncan was going to keep reminding himself just how lucky he was that Draculaura was just one person. She was beginning to remind him of Katie and Sadie...or at least, a smarter, slightly cooler version.

"Yeah. I don't usually handle the register though, old man Kings has that covered. I'm just a backroom guy- put 'em together, fix 'em, whatever. Though occasionally I'm stuck givin' the riding lessons the place holds every Saturday."

It wasn't one of his favorite activities, and the occasional resident probably hated his lessons just as much as Duncan did (though for a much different reason). Fortunately for everyone though, he didn't have to take over very often, and even when he did he at least tried to make sure everyone could ride by the time he was through. Mostly because it beat draggin' them off to the nearest doctor.

Oh so easily excited this one, the girl clapping her hands together and pulling in once more.

"Ooooooh! You even give lessons? I'll definitely be there, sounds like it could be a lot of fun." She hummed in reply, offering a wide smile as she watched him with hopeful eyes. Yes, she was making friends already. At least she was in her mind.
