Kanaya was heading by to touch the coral in that regular sustenance way, and noticed a girl with a towel and a fairy. Few people actually carried towels around unless they were newcomers, after all.

Even fewer of them attempted to speak to the fairies after the first day or so. That action decided it, and Kanaya moved over to question the girl.

"Have you just arrived here?"

"Yes I am." Kairi turned in the direction of the speaker, and her gaze settled for a moment on the horns. She has seen humanized critters, but someone who gray skin and horns.

Whoops. Staring. She gave a sheepish smile, knowing that was rude. "I'm Kairi. Are you from around here?"

A rather late tag, I'm sorry. :( meddlefussyfang September 23 2011, 05:05:25 UTC
Kanaya is very well accustomed to staring, especially from the humans who are still dripping. So many of them come from worlds with only their own species, and so react with alarm at the others...

But her internal thoughts digress. "I live closer to the edge of the bubble than the center. But I am not originally from this city, no. I was brought here unexpectedly, the same as you and a rather large number of other people."

I don't think that they can. [Touko grinned a little as she approached the young? girl, chopping bag of odds and ends in her arms.] Have you just arrived?

[She smiled at the girl who appeared very close to her own age.]

I did, but I can't recall how I got here. I'm Kairi. [She looked over at the shopping bags.] Do you need any help with that?

That's pretty common with us all, I think.

Oh yea, sure if you don't mind. I'd normally have one of my team help me but none of them have hands. [..... Touko, this girl likely has no idea that you mean your pokemon team.] I'm Touko, too. What's your name?

[She slipped back into her shoes and fastened her bag to her belt.]
It's nice to meet you, Touko. I'm Kairi.

[Kairi approached Touko to take half of the load.

Wait.]

We get teams here?

[Oh.

There's a face Demyx hasn't seen in awhile!

Well... Okay, maybe he's seen that face except the owner had black hair instead of red. What was her name, though? Think, think...]

You new, dude?

[She was a little uncertain about him. Mostly because she couldn't sense the dark or light. It was like when she met Axel, but there weren't any creatures hanging around making the situation worst.

Kairi smiled.]

I am. My name is Kairi. Does this happen often?

A lot, actual--

[Wait.]

...D-Did you say Kairi?

I did.

[Color her curious. She tipped her head just slightly to the side.]

Is something wrong?

He hung back in the distance, watching as she interacted with local and outsider alike, hood up. It had been a while since he had sensed this light, and while he will admit to missing her... Riku couldn't help but feel afraid again. It may be stupid--it's Kairi, he's constantly told himself--but he'll always be hesitant to step out. Especially after...

After he slipped up again.

Thus he waited until later on to approach, or do anything for that matter. Even then, he was hesitant. "...Kairi?"

Riku. That was definitely Riku’s voice. The last she heard it was just moments before she stumbled down the rabbit hole. The message from Mickey and both Sora and Riku making their minds up. She knew the moment the message arrived she would be saying goodbye.

No. Not goodbye. See you later.

And sure enough, she was seeing one of them later, but something was different. She smiled as turned to face him, clasping her hands behind her back.

“Riku.” She closed the space between them, if he would allow it. She allowed the concern to flitter across her expression as she looked him over. Kairi had confirmation that this was close to how they found him. She didn’t know how to ask.

It was still Riku, and she wouldn’t let him face this alone.

The issue was they had already got passed this.

If only that's all it was.

He hasn't gotten close to that point yet, doesn't know a lot of what will eventually happen. What he does know, however, is that this place seems to enough bringing his friends from a future he doesn't know and is foreign to. It's taken all his willpower to keep himself rooted to this spot--to at least say hello and not turn tail and run from one of the two he missed the most.

Lowering the hood as she calls his name, Riku can't help but still feel worried. He'd allow her to get closer; it's Kairi, after all. He knows that scent--that light anywhere. Yet that pause... the concern and uncertainty is far too apparent, even to the one who was partially blinded by choice. Still, he isn't sure whether she'd remember... What should he say?

"Welcome to Vatheon." Start simple, at least. "Has anyone told you about this place, or-?"

Do you remember?

“I was told a bit. I guess instead of traveling across it, we wound up under it.” Kairi was starting to wonder if this, Riku’s predicament, was what one of her new friend’s meant by Vatheon is not as kind to some. She was keeping her tone light as she hid the concern behind her usual smile. The red head took a hold of his sleeve, just to make sure he wouldn’t try to run off. Can’t try to pull that again.

"They're kind of neat, aren't they?" Aww, there was no way Allen, as a good samaritan, let someone so cluelessly adorable wander with questions unanswered. "Unfortunately, I think the one that followed me around is..." He makes a glance to the gold golem floating up next to him. "Nevermind that..."

"You have that new look about you... Allow me to be of assistance. I'm Allen." He smiles, offering his right hand out for a handshake.

There was just a moment of awkwardness as she made sure her hand was dry before she took his hand to shake.
“I think fresh from the wash might fit better. I’m Kairi. It’s nice to meet you, Allen.” Her attention shifted to his golden…friend? “And who might this be?” The fairies are definitely neat, but the golem was cool looking.

“That… is quite the circumstantial entrance line, isn’t it?” He smiles and shrugs. “It’s nice to meet you too. Kairi” Allen releases her hand a moment later, shifting his gaze to the golem. “Oh! My apologies. This is Timcampy, a good friend of mine…”

"Has anyone explained this place to you, Miss Kairi?"

"It's nice to meet you, Timcampy." She grinned, watching the golem for a moment. She folded her hands over one another.

"Just bits and pieces. I heard they are working on an elevator and this place isn't always nice."
